Single-cell sequencing is opening up new avenues for potential treatments

There's so much scientists still don't understand about how individual cells work together, whether that's to keep a brain functioning, a stomach churning, or a cancer metastasizing. But a powerful new technology called single cell sequencing is starting to fill in the picture of how, exactly, an individual cell operates. By quickly and cheaply analyzing thousands of cells in one experiment, it’s now possible to capture the cellular culprits for certain conditions and watch how cells might interact with their microscopic peers.
