- Professionalism and Professional Standing;
- Lifelong Learning (CME) and Self-Assessment (SA)
- Assessment of Knowledge, Judgment and Skills
- Improvement in Medical Practice (PIP)
The Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC) of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology reflects the Board’s commitment to lifelong learning throughout one’s profession. The mission of MOC is to ensure that diplomates adhere to the highest standards in medicine and pursue excellence in all areas of care and practice improvement.
American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics
ASENT and the ANA are collaborating to advance the development of new therapies for neurological disorders, by bringing together key leaders from the academic neurology community, industry and government to explore the challenges associated with CNS therapy development.
Association of University Professors of Neurology
The AUPN partners with the ANA to present Career Development courses each year at the ANA's Annual Meeting. The AUPN provides career development courses the Chairs of Neurology, and holds its Annual Meeting in conjunction with the ANA's Annual Meeting.
Child Neurology Society
The Annals of Neurology, the official journal of the American Neurological Association and the Child Neurology Society. The Annals is ranked #2 in Clinical Neurology and #9 in Neurosciences. The Annals of Neurology’s Impact Factor is 11.91.
The Society for Equity Neuroscience (SEQUINS)
Globally, nervous system disorders disproportionately affect certain racial and ethnic groups (e.g., Black, Indigenous, and people of color), people of lower socioeconomic status, and individuals living in underserved regions. These disease disparities, which are primarily driven by structural inequities, are expected to worsen with time. To help mitigate the rise in global neurological burden by focusing research on high-risk populations, the Society for Equity Neuroscience (SEQUINS) was founded in 2024 with the mission “to advance brain health equity through science”. SEQUINS aims to nurture and grow an intellectual, interconnected, and international community, fully engaged in synergistic activities that bend the neurological disparities curve. These activities include hosting an annual scientific meeting and overseeing a discipline-specific scientific journal, both set to begin in 2025. The SEQUINS annual meeting will be held in Spring each year, as a one-day multidisciplinary scientific forum focused on nervous system health and care, with the overarching goal of accelerating the translation of research findings to improve outcomes for disparate populations. The journal, entitled Equity Neuroscience (EQN), will be a peer-reviewed open access online journal, which publishes the scholarly progress of work to understand and overcome neurological inequities and disparities with a remit ranging from basic and translational science to clinical and population health research. SEQUINS will also offer mentoring programs and community outreach initiatives. ANA will be exploring ways to collaborate with SEQUINS to bolster worldwide brain health via collaborative research endeavors.
