NINDS Director Walter J. Koroshetz, MD recently shared a new Director's Message. In the message, he highlights NINDS efforts to foster research in fundamental neuroscience. Alongside these efforts, there is an open Request for Information (RFI) to solicit public input to NINDS regarding the challenges and opportunities in fundamental neuroscience research.
Fundamental neuroscience is the bedrock of scientific progress and a critical component of the NINDS mission. Ultimately, a more complete understanding of the development, the structure, and the function of the normal nervous system will benefit the entire neuroscience community for generations to come.
