Deadline Extended: ACTN Editor-in-Chief Applications Due February 7

The ANA Journals Oversight Committee seeks applications for the next Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology when Jack Kessler, MD completes his term on December 31, 2022.

The deadline to submit applications has been extended to Monday, February 7

Published as an online-only Open Access journal since 2014, ACTN is a premier global journal that publishes articles of broad interest with potential for high impact in understanding the mechanisms and treatment of diseases of the human nervous system. All areas of clinical and basic neuroscience, including new technologies, cellular and molecular neurobiology, population sciences, and studies of behavior, addiction, and psychiatric diseases are of interest to the journal. ACTN is particularly interested in clinical trials and other large-scale studies that inform the practice of medicine. 

ANA is seeking an individual with a strong record of academic excellence in research on clinical neuroscience. The successful applicant will demonstrate a compelling strategic vision for the journal’s development and differentiation from other reputable journals in the field; outstanding academic achievement; excellent communication skills; a collaborative leadership style; a sincere commitment to inclusion, diversity, access and equity; a clear understanding of trends in scientific journal publishing, including Open Access and the deployment of social media channels; an international network of colleagues; and significant editorial experience.

The journal’s 2020 Impact Factor is 4.511 and it ranks 59/208 in Clinical Neurology and 92/273 in Neurosciences (2020 Journal Citation Reports, Clarivate Analytics).

Currently, the Editor-in-Chief is supported by Associate Editors and Editorial Board, see https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/23289503/homepage/editorialboard.html, as well as the Social Media Editor and the Managing Editor, who works remotely from an external resource. The journal uses the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission and peer review management system provided by the publisher, Wiley.
