Annals of Neurology Editor-in-Chief Search

The joint American Neurological Association (ANA) and Child Neurology Society (CNS) Annals of Neurology Oversight Committee is seeking applicants for the next Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the journal. The EiC will serve an initial term of 4 years, effective with the January 2022 issue. Please visit myana.org/publications/annals-neurology-editor-chief-job-description for a complete job description. The EiC will be a dynamic and collaborative individual with a strong editorial vision to lead Annals of Neurology into the future. The EiC will be a recognized expert in academic neurology and will possess high standards in research and publication. The EiC is responsible for structuring, appointing, and overseeing the Associate Editors and Editorial Board and will set the journal’s standards for manuscript acceptance, while establishing an infrastructure to ensure rapid and fair peer-review. The EiC is expected to foster diversity, while ensuring fairness and inclusion in the publishing process.

The successful candidate will be supported by a virtual editorial office responsible for managing all administrative aspects of the peer review process while overseeing journal production with ANA’s publishing partner, Wiley.

The new EiC will assume full responsibilities with publication of the January 2022 issue. The transition will begin in Q3 2021 with the EiC and new Editorial Office handling all new submissions as of October 1, 2021. The EiC will be compensated by ANA commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the journal’s editorial structure.
