In a recent Neurology Today article, Annals of Neurology Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Tyler, MD, FAAN, FANA shared the journal saw an increase of about 20% in research papers submitted between March 2020 and February 2021 compared with pre-COVID in 2019.
Dr. Tyler stated "This seems to have abated closer to our historic baseline during the second half of 2021. The increase was driven both by COVID-related papers, but also was more broadly based and may have reflected people using ‘COVID time’ to wrap up projects that had been in their ‘to do’ pile.”
