July 2024

Dear ANA Members,

July is Disability Pride Month, and we celebrate and honor individuals with disabilities who pioneered and those who are currently making advances in medicine, science, and neurology. One such pioneer was Dr. Odette Shotwell who lived with paralysis caused by polio in her childhood. She was a significant contributor to the development of antibiotics. For our colleagues who continue to research neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, we look forward to National Disability Independence Day on July 26, the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

I would like to congratulate the 2024 ANA Award winners and their remarkable achievements. We hope you will join us for this important meeting.

ne resource the ANA offers throughout the year is the ANA Investigates Podcast series. Coming later this month is ANA Investigates AI in Academia. During this episode, Dr. Zachary London interviews Ethan Mollick, PhD, MBA, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to discuss how AI is transforming academic research.
