December 2018

Dear ANA members,

In this issue of our newsletter, we profile the first of our early-career members taking advantage of the ANA’s International Outreach Scholarship program. Rajarshi Mazumder, MD, MPH, an Epilepsy Fellow at UCLA, enters that program with field experience in Uganda that will enable him to contribute in ways he would not have been able to do otherwise. Raj has said previously that the ANA is unique in offering this program, and we are proud of our leadership in funding scientists training in neurology to work in low to lower-middle income countries for six weeks or more.

We have chosen three 2018 International Outreach Scholarship winners in this second year of the program, and the next round of applications will be due in June. I encourage you to start thinking now about who on your team might benefit from this opportunity.

As our year comes to a close, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the ANA and our shared vision of a world in which high-quality research from across the globe is constantly fueling breakthroughs in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of neurological disease.

Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season.
