ABPN Updates Webinar 2026
The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) invites you to attend an upcoming webinar focused on key association updates and the Continuing Certification Program on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 PM EDT featuring ABPN President and CEO Jeffrey M. Lyness, MD, and ABPN Board Chair Amy Brooks-Kayal, MD, FANA.

This session will provide an update on the ABPN’s mission, strategic priorities, and Continuing Certification program, with discussion focused on how certification supports lifelong learning and high standards of expertise in neurology and psychiatry. Speakers will also highlight recent ABPN initiatives, including a new pilot academic pathway as an alternate route to certification eligibility, along with potential changes to training requirements and updates to ABPN grant award programs.
Attendees will gain insight into the rationale behind continuing certification and learn how neurologists in academic settings may already be meeting many certification requirements through activities integrated into their professional careers. The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the role of specialty certification boards as distinct from, yet complementary to, educational organizations
- Summarize the rationale for independent assessment as part of a continuing certification program
- Describe the core elements of the ABPN Continuing Certification program
This webinar offers an important opportunity for neurologists, educators, and trainees to hear directly from ABPN leadership about evolving certification pathways, current initiatives, and the future of continuing certification. Join colleagues from across the field for this timely discussion.
