F.E. Bennett Memorial Lectureship
The F.E. Bennett Memorial Lectureship, established in 1979 by Dr. Abram Elting Bennett, in memory of his son, Foster Elting Bennett, recognizes outstanding neuroscientists and educators in neurology. The award is open to both members and non-members and is selected by the Annual Meeting Programming Committee.
Award
- $1,000 Honorarium
- Gratis Annual Meeting Registration
- Up to $1,000 Travel Reimbursement
- A Commemorative Plaque
Eligibility
- An outstanding physician-scientist or neuroscientist devoted to advancing the goals of academic neurology with an appointment as an Associate Professor, Full Professor or Chair or equivalent.
- Actively working in the field of academic neurology or neuroscience
- Available to present in-person during the ANA Annual Meeting
- ANA membership is not required
Application Requirements
*Please note: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Annual Meeting Programming Committee.
- Nominee’s CV with a complete bibliography
- A one-page statement of research achievements
- A list of the nominee’s 10 most important papers
- One nomination letter from a member of the American Neurological Association describing the nominee’s contribution to the field
- Proposed abstract for the lectureship given during the ANA Annual Meeting (Max. 250 words)
The ANA Annual Meeting Programming Committee may consider the following criteria when selecting a recipient:
- Local, national or international recognition as supported by awards
- Novelty, originality, and new concepts in research work; advancement of knowledge
- Prospective impact of the nominee’s research
- Publication record (e.g. H index and total number of citations may also be considered)
- Peer-reviewed grants
