ANA2021 attendees: your registration includes complimentary access to the SIG Series – virtual presentations related to ANA's 18 Special Interest Groups – held throughout November and December. All SIG sessions take place virtually and are scheduled for 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM ET.
Join us this week for the following sessions:
- Global Neurology | Monday, December 6
- The COVID-19 pandemic has had major global impacts on neurology care, education, and research, particularly in resource-limited settings. In this session, a diverse group of leaders in global neurology from around the world will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on delivery of neurologic care, research, and neurology training.
- Neuromuscular Disease | Wednesday, December 8
- This special interest group session will focus on two areas of contemporary interest in neuromuscular disease. One session will review familial amyloid polyneuropathy and examine the recent development and release of several novel therapies that improve the natural history of this disorder. Another session will review the expanding number of recognized autoantibodies in myositis and discuss the implications for diagnosis and treatment in this heterogeneous group of autoimmune diseases. Three short presentations have been selected from the best accepted neuromuscular abstracts.
- Neurogenetics | Friday, December 10
- Arguably no medical specialty has benefited more from the last decade of genomic advances than Neurology, and the pace of discoveries continued in 2021. This session aims to keep attendees up-to-date by providing key updates from four broad facets of neurogenetic inquiry: advances in methodologies; key gene discoveries; sociological and ethical implications of genetics; and exciting developments in molecular therapies.
