The Awards Committee oversees matters related to the ANA awards process from a strategic position, defining new awards, and choosing the recipients of the Derek Denny-Brown, Grass Foundation, Distinguished Teacher, Wolf Research Prize, and ANA Awards for Excellence.
Education Innovation Subcommittee
The ANA Education Innovation Subcommittee creates and implements educational and community-building initiatives that fully align with the Association’s mission of advancing academic neurology and neuroscience. Specifically, this Subcommittee has been designed to ensure the Association meets the unique and diverse needs of the current and prospective members, organized into the following categories of membership; Chair-Level, Mid-Career, Early-Career, and Junior Member, and International Member.
The Investment Committee analyzes the ANA’s investment portfolio in relation to current market conditions, the ANA’s Investment Policy document, and the ANA’s current financial conditions and will make recommendations for possible changes in asset allocations.
The Nominating Committee develops a slate of individuals for vacant officer and director positions, which is then submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. The final approved slate is submitted to the general membership for an approval and vote. Committee members should have knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the various elected positions.
The Membership Committee oversees matters related to the engagement, retention, and acquisition of ANA’s membership, and to serve as the voice of all ANA members. The Committee is comprised of members from each ANA membership category.
Career Development Subcommittee
The Career Development Subcommittee is charged with planning a series of professional development workshops held during the ANA Annual Meeting and provides recommendations for educational programming to the to the Education Innovation Subcommittee. Subcommittee members identify topics, speakers, and moderators for the professional development workshops.
Interactive Lunch Workshops Subcommittee
The Interactive Lunch Workshop Subcommittee is charged with planning a series of Interactive Lunch Workshops which is held during the ANA Annual Meeting. Subcommittee members identify topics, speakers, and moderators for the interactive lunch workshops.
ANA-NINDS Career Development Symposium Planning Subcommittee
The ANA-NINDS Career Development Planning Subcommittee is responsible for determining the educational activities included in the formal program of the ANA-NINDS Career Development Symposium, including the overall design and flow of the program, the types of activities, and the specific content of activities.
Research Careers Reimagined (RCR) Course Planning Subcommittee
The Research Careers Reimagined (RCR) Course Planning Subcommittee is responsible for determining the educational activities of the biennial Course, including the overall design and flow of the program, and the specific content of activities.
Global Engagement Committee (GEC)
The Global Engagement Committee (GEC) is a committee created by the Board to enhance the relationship of the ANA to the wider world of academic neurology and neuroscience in a global context. The GEC works with ANA leadership regarding how best to achieve ANA’s international objectives.
